FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A SHOWER MIXER TAP?

A shower mixer tap combines both hot and cold water from the same spout. Mixer taps can help to reduce water waste, making them a more efficient and sustainable option for showering.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2-WAY AND 3-WAY SHOWERS?

2-way showers feature two outlets such as a shower head and handset, whereas a 3-way shower comes with both of these, plus a bath spout.

DO SHOWER PARTS NEED TO BE POSITIONED AS PICTURED, OR IS THERE SOME FLEXIBILITY?

You can position the head or shower holder on any part of your chosen wall, however please note that additional pipework may be required.

HOW DO I AFFIX THE OVERHEAD SHOWER ONTO A WALL?

Installing a shower requires additional plumbing parts, such as an elbow connection, so if you’re unsure on the process we strongly recommend that you appoint a professional.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MIXER SHOWER AND A THERMOSTATIC SHOWER?

The difference between a mixer shower and a thermostatic shower is that a mixer will combine the hot and cold water to a set temperature, whereas a thermostatic shower uses a pre-set thermostat to keep the water temperature consistent.

WHAT IS AN OVERHEAD SHOWER?

An overhead shower - often referred to as a rainfall shower - typically features a larger shower head than other forms of shower. Often favoured for its soft downpour of water, the overhead shower offers a large amount of rainfall making your shower experience more relaxing.

WHAT IS THE STANDARD THICKNESS FOR SHOWER SCREEN GLASS?

Typically a glass shower screen should be 6mm in thickness for durability. At Lusso, our toughened glass shower screens range from 8mm - 10mm in thickness. This offers extra safety and protection, as well as making the shower screen more durable and likely to last the years.

WHAT IS A SHOWER ENCLOSURE?

A shower enclosure is a glass panel structure that surrounds a shower tray to protect your bathroom from splashes, and creates a walk-in shower design at the same time. As it’s a walk-in shower enclosure, they do not have doors, and are designed with glass screens allowing open space.
