How To Clean & Maintain Cast Iron

With proper care, your Lusso cast iron bath is designed to last a lifetime. Each bath is coated with durable vitreous enamel, which provides a tough, glass-like surface that is easy to clean and maintain. Follow these steps to protect your investment and keep your bath looking pristine.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Non-abrasive cleaner or mild soap
  • Soft sponge or microfibre cloth
  • Soft towel


CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Prepare the bath: Fill with 3-4 inches of hot water, rotating to warm the entire interior, and leave for a few minutes before draining.
  • Mix cleaner: Combine 2 tablespoons of non-abrasive cleaner with 1 gallon of hot water.
  • Clean gently: Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth to rub the surface, removing soap residue and grime.
  • Rinse thoroughly: Ensure no cleaner remains by rinsing with hot water.
  • Dry: Wipe the bath dry with a soft towel or microfibre cloth.


TIPS FOR LONG-TERM CARE:

  • Wipe down the bath while still warm to prevent soap rings
  • Dry after each use to avoid mould, mildew and water stains
  • Ensure taps do not drip when the bath is not in use to prevent limescale and discolouration
